Our Charities

Along the way, we hope to raise funds for two charitable operations, St. Anne's Project Hope Ministry, which assists individuals and families in emergency crises, and the Illinois Fatherhood Initiative, which promotes responsible fatherhood by equipping men to be better fathers and father figures.  100% of your gift will go to the charity that you choose; there are no fund-raising administrative costs and your donation will not go toward financing our adventure. Any amount will help, even a dollar!!

Project Hope, a ministry of the St. Anne Catholic Community in Barrington, Illinois, provides temporary assistance to individuals and families who reside in Chicago's Northwest suburbs and are in emergency situations.  Project Hope (Hospitality, Outreach, Prayer, Ecumenical) opened its doors in 1986 and focuses on working with the poor, unemployed, and homeless. The Project Hope office receives an average of 200 requests per month for various types of assistance. Volunteers help raise funds for Project Hope by staffing a not-for-profit resale shop and holding a yearly garage sale. Generous individuals and businesses in the area also provide needed donations.

Project Hope believes that by providing temporary assistance it will help individuals to empower themselves to once again become self-sufficient.

Illinois Fatherhood Initiative, founded in 1997, is the country’s lead state-wide non-profit organization whose mission is connecting children and fathers by promoting responsible fathering and helping equip men to become better fathers and father-figures.  IFI promotes greater father involvement in schools, hospitals, and employers across Illinois.  IFI’s flagship program is an essay contest known publicly as the Chicago White Sox Illinois Fatherhood Essay Contest, which has involved more than 300,000 first though twelfth grade students.  IFI also conducts Boot Camp For New Dads seminars, produces the popular I Want My Child to Succeed in School! guide for parents, distributes a semi annual newsletter, and is involved in a host of other programs.  IFI is a volunteer organization with its main office in Chicago.
